Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who now serves as the team's quarterbacks coach, played a significant role in the Chief's decision to draft Patrick Mahomes.

Repeating his own career path, Nagy served as Kansas City's quarterbacks coach from 2013 through 2015 before being promoted to offensive coordinator -- a role he held for two seasons (2016-17).

Nagy served as Chiefs OC in 2016 and 2017 before becoming head coach of the Chicago Bears. He returned as an assistant in 2022.

Matt Nagy, who served as Chiefs offensive coordinator before he became head coach of the Bears in 2018, will again have that role under Andy Reid in Kansas City.
