Ministers have been told a salary rise for NHS workers must get into pay packets “as soon as possible” after Scotland’s largest health union became the latest to accept an 8% wage hike.

Differences continue with pay deals for NHS staff. Workers in Scotland, excluding doctors and dentists who negotiate separately, have agreed a 4.25% rise this year.
