BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. – Smith Mountain Lake State Park is in the running for a USA Today “10 Best Award” as one of the best lakeside beaches.

Smith Mountain Lake will hold an open house on Wednesday from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. to give the community a chance to meet Wright. It will be held at the Smith Mountain Lake State Park Discovery Center.
