Over 12,000 Central Virginia homes and businesses were without power Tuesday evening as severe storms battered the region.

As of 4:20 p.m., AES reported 2,740 power customers in the dark in Montgomery County. By 7:20 p.m., that had decreased to 319 customers without electricity, then to 142 around 10:30 p.m.
