ROCKFORD — A long-time fun tradition returned to Midway Village Museum today. Sock Monkey Madness Day. The family event has been around for nearly 20 years.

In Gibraltar, Barbary macaques roam freely and are the only wild monkey population in Europe. They are a major tourist attraction but can sometimes cause trouble, like the recent attack.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Midway Village Museum in Rockford. "It's great," said Midway Village Museum marketing director Luke Fredrickson.
