Sunny Isles, Florida, police on Friday dispersed a "large, non-permitted spring break gathering" in the vacation destination north of Miami and south of Fort Lauderdale.

A huge spring break party was dispersed by cops in Sunny Isles Beach, South Florida, over the weekend after clampdowns on gatherings pushed revelers toward normally sleepier communities. Cellphone footage showed a massive crowd swarming the beach after an invite for the non-permitted gathering was reportedly shared on social media.

Spring break marched on in Miami Beach Saturday, but with little of the historical fanfare residents and tourists expect. What is considered the city’s second “peak weekend” of the holiday felt far from deserving of the “peak” tag — small crowds, sparing music and more locals.
