Metropolitan Ministries kicked off its annual holiday drive Friday morning by collecting food donations for families in need in the Tampa Bay area.

“That’s real good because wanna keep them safe and wanna keep us safe,” said Gail Warmack after picking up a box of food in the drive thru. RIght now, it is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

The drive aimed to collect about 10,000 cans but the food collection yielded the highest in the 26 years at 16,280 donations. Skip Navigation.
