Mariah Carey won in court after being sued by Andy Stone over her lyrics for "All I Want For Christmas Is You." The R&B singer was awarded a summary judgment.

“The phrase, ‘all I want for Christmas is you,’ may seem like a common parlance today, [but] in 1988 it was, in context, distinctive,” the 19-page complaint filed in November argued.

On Dec. 13, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" became the first holiday song to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify. “This is beyond incredible," Carey said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" debuted in 1994 on her album Merry Christmas. The tune is an annual chart-topper during the holiday season.
