Like Ling Yao, Mei is a royal heir of Xing seeking a Philosopher's Stone to better her people. However, unlike Ling, Mei is only 12-years-old.

In the reboot, however, Greed's character was very similar to his 2003 version, except after his death, he was given a second chance by inhabiting Ling Yao's body.

We don’t get the opportunity to see a version of Greed again until the Crown Prince of Xing Ling Yao, a greedy man himself, takes on the essence of Greed to become the new vessel for the homunculus.
