Spokane Lilac Festival Association Executive Director Adriana Berndt said this year had more groups walking in the parade than last year, with some entries even coming from across the state.

The Lilac Brewfest starts the festivities at Riverfront Park Saturday, May 17. At the event, enjoy beers from more than 30 breweries, live music, food trucks and more.

The Lilac Festival has been celebrated every spring since 1898. More than 500,000 visitors from across Western and Upstate NY, the tri-state area and Canada come to attend the festival.
