SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Las Cuatro Milpas, a popular Mexican restaurant that has been an institution in Barrio Logan for decades, has denied rumors that it plans to close its doors.

The nearly century-old Los Cuatros Milpas in Barrio Logan, which is facing a possible property tax auction, sought to quash a rumor this week that San Diego's oldest Mexican restaurant was closing.

Las Cuatro Milpas, which has been in business in Barrio Logan for 91 years, passed its third health inspection on Jan. 17, earning an A rating and clearing the way for the restaurant to reopen.

Las Cuatro Milpas — a San Diego Mexican food institution for 91 years — has been temporarily closed by county health officials due to major violations.

The Mexican restaurant had been closed since Dec. 30, 2024, when it failed a food inspection. Since then it failed two more times during a re-inspection on Jan. 10 and again on Jan. 16.
