Update 5/16: Mocha's Mug owners announced they will be leaving Landrum for Lake Bowen Commons (7116 SC-9) in nearby Inman. Their last day in Landrum is May 21; opening day in Inman to be announced.

CARO-Mi Dining plans to open in Landrum sometime this spring. Formerly in Tryon, NC, the restaurant was knocked off its foundation Sept. 27 by Hurricane Helene.

Landrum, with a population of less than 3,000, is just south of the North Carolina border in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The mountains, the piedmont, the sandhills, coastal plain, and even barrier islands offshore -- all of it's exciting, but when you come to the mountains, you think of continental collisions.
