A Wakefield club will hold an event to commemorate the role of women in the biggest industrial dispute of the era.

FARGO — The Edgewood Golf Course Ladies Club will have their season kickoff meetings on Thursday, May 16, at the Edgewood Chalet. The morning group will meet at 5 p.m. with registration at 4:30 p.m.

The 2022 Silver Spoon was also awarded. The honor may be bestowed each year at the December meeting on a member of the Godfrey Women's Club who has served the club in an outstanding way.

Although the club specifically unites Democratic women in Lorain County, anyone can attend the meeting, James said. “We don’t discriminate and our meetings are open to the public,” she said.
