Tapestry has increased its equity stake in recycled leather manufacturer Gen Phoenix to 9.9%, according to a press release.

Led by sales outperformance from Coach (up 6%), Tapestry’s second-quarter adjusted earnings per share (excluding acquisition costs) of $1.63 was $0.19 above our forecast.

The brand represented about 3% of Tapestry’s total sales. Stuart Weitzman, like Kate Spade, has seen consistent revenue declines while its bigger sister brand Coach has led Tapestry to sales growth.
