Kohl’s is starting to downsize its footprint by closing 27 stores across 15 states starting this weekend. The closings come as the retailer is trying to shed underperforming locations, change leadership at the top, cut 10% of its corporate workforce and end Amazon returns in some brick-and-mortar stores.

(Gray News) – Kohl’s is closing 27 stores nationwide on Saturday as the department store struggles to improve sales. Kohl’s announced the upcoming closures in a news release in January, saying that the 27 locations across 15 states would be closed by April.
