Davenport stands to receive approximately $237,000 for just under nine months at the helm of King William County. The county confirmed Ashcraft’s salary was $175,000 in 2023-24.

A King William official has resigned after nearly a year, with one county board supervisor saying that “they don’t think [they] had a choice” when accepting her resignation.

King William County has seen a rapid turnover of staff in recent years. The finance team quit over a year ago while Ashcraft left in 2024.
