King Soopers is requesting relief from the court in the form of payment from Local 7 for costs, expenses and damages sustained due to the labor strike deemed unlawful by the plaintiff.
King Soopers says it is committed to keeping stores open during the strike, though some locations may operate with reduced hours. The 2022 strike lasted 10 days before a deal was reached.
The two sides will now work for 100 days to reach a new agreement, with King Soopers also agreeing not to lock workers out during that time if negotiations sour.
King Soopers and City Market have been accused of violating the agreement signed with UFCW Local 7 that ended the union’s 12-day strike in February.
