After Freeman’s untimely death in December 2006, the Josh M. Freeman Foundation was created in his honor.

On the C-SPAN Networks: Josh Freeman was a Professor for History in the Columbia University with three videos in the C-SPAN Video Library; the first appearance was a 1996 Forum.

Matt Cassel would be the backup. Freeman, released by Tampa Bay on Oct. 3, was rushed into duty after signing with the Vikings on Oct. 6 and had a poor game against the Giants.
