On Friday, a new exhibit honoring Henson opens at the Maryland Center for History and Culture in Baltimore. Titled “The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited,” it runs through December.

“The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited” will feature puppets, costumes and other items spanning Henson’s colorful career. The exhibit will run from May 26 until December 2023.

Jim Henson was a Marylander, he was from the D. C. suburbs, and attended the University of Maryland. He got the TV bug working on commercials in the Washington area and the rest is history.

Erickson said that Henson’s Maryland connection gives visitors “an idea of how he persevered” through his early arts career and shows just how far the Muppets have come.
