In his first plate appearance of the game, Jarred Kelenic smashed a solo homer over the 400-foot sign in center field off Royals starter Brad Keller in the second inning on a 2-1 fastball.

With Acuña placed on the 10-day injured list with an inflamed Achilles on Wednesday, the team called up outfielder Jarred Kelenic from Triple-A Gwinnett to take his place.
