The latest warning comes from the Jackson Police Department, which says someone has been calling businesses — gas stations, in particular — claiming to be a city of Jackson employee.

From January through June, the city recorded 36 homicides — 31 handled by JPD and five by Capitol Police. That’s down from 62 in the same time frame last year.
