More than 80,000 Texas prisoners live in facilities that lack air conditioning. They have former state senator and Houston Mayor John Whitmire to thank.

Crockett is being criticized for referring to Gov. Greg Abbott, who is in a wheelchair, as "Governor Hot Wheels." She says she wasn't referring to the wheelchair.

Texoma Patriots held this meeting to discuss the potential dangers that lithium battery facilities could pose to the community.

Crockett mentioned Abbott briefly after mentioning being in the hot Texas streets. "Y'all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there come on now," she told the audience to laughs and applause.
