Battery life for gaming handhelds is always a challenge but the tradeoffs for the Switch 2 appear to be particularly brutal. Nintendo has confirmed that the next-gen device will run for anywhere from 2-6.5 hours on a single charge depending on what you’re playing. It ain’t great. In fact, it’s somehow even worse than that of the original Switch.

Nintendo has confirmed the battery life of Nintendo Switch 2. According to the manufacturer, the Switch 2 console will contain a 5220mAh lithium-ion battery. This is a higher capacity battery than the one included with the original Switch (which is a 4310mAh battery), and the one included in the Switch Lite (3570mAh).

One of the details that may have gone unnoticed after all the information about Nintendo Switch 2 is battery life. Nintendo did not talk about it on the Direct, but on the website they have confirmed how long will battery life... and it's not too good. In fact, is shorter than the original Nintendo Switch.
