BEREA, Ohio -- City Council approved a new ward map at a special Nov. 28 meeting, ahead of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections deadline. The Berea charter requires a ward review every 10 years.

The new Cleveland City Council ward map that council is expected to finalize at its Monday, Jan. 6, meeting eliminates both issues, but that does not mean that the new map’s intentions are better.

The council will vote on whether to approve the map June 12. If approved, the changes would be implemented in the 2025 election cycle. The current map, which was drawn based on the 2000 census ...
