The Indonesian government has repatriated 84 of its citizens who were victims of an alleged online scam operation in Myanmar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repatriated 84 Indonesian nationals involved in online scam practices from Myawaddy in Myanmar.

Thailand is working with authorities in the capital cities or embassies of some countries that have citizens stuck on the Thai-Myanmar border following their rescue from scam compounds to hasten their repatriation,

The first phase of repatriation will focus on 92 Indonesian citizens who suffered abductions and torture in Myanmar.

Hundreds of Chinese nationals have been repatriated through Thailand, after being rescued from scam centers in Myanmar. Several flights are set to take off to China in the coming days, carrying 1,500 freed victims.
