A recent ESPN mock draft has the Indianapolis Colts drafting LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier to replace Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson.

The last thing Richardson's future as the starter can afford is for Jones to excel and supplant him as the leader. Jones selected the Colts because he legitimately believed this was the best destination for him to revive his career after spending the rest of 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings after the Giants cut ties with him.

Anthony Richardson had just 13 career college starts. He had accuracy issues. He wasn't consistent. There was a lot of work that needed to be done. The Colts ignored all of that, instead focusing on Richardson's impressive physical profile.
