Early rumors had the iPhone 17 Air topping the iPhone Pro in price. However, a March Bloomberg report suggested the phone could cost about $900, similar to the current iPhone 16 Plus's price tag.

But iPhone 16e will be more affordable than the cheapest standard iPhone 16 at $800. The new phone will be available in stores Feb. 28, but can be pre-ordered beginning Friday.

The iPhone 16 starts at $799, with the iPhone 16 Pro starting at $999 — so how much could a made-in-America iPhone cost? Ives estimated that it would be priced at $3,500.

So, no matter how much the final product costs consumers, bringing iPhone manufacturing to the U.S. would cost Apple billions, and possibly tens of billions, more.
