One person was killed and three were injured late Wednesday in a two-alarm fire at a senior living apartment complex in north Houston.

The Houston Fire Department was dispatched to the Independence Hall senior living apartment complex just before 11 p.m. after reports of a fire. Crews called for a second alarm after arriving to a heavy fire in one of the buildings in the complex.

Flames were seen erupting from the apartment complex's second floor, and at least three people were rescued but sadly, one person died.
