Firefighters are battling a massive house fire in the Kimbrough area of Germantown, where police had attempted to contact an armed individual inside before flames erupted.

Germantown Police and the Germantown Fire Department are on the scene of a house fire that began with a domestic disturbance call Friday afternoon. It happened in the 8000 block of Cavershamwood Drive.

When they arrived, the person who called met the officers outside, and they attempted to contact a person believed to be armed inside the house. While they did this, officers said they noticed smoke and flames coming from the house and contacted the Germantown Fire Department.
