Dozens of L.A. Grand Hotel workers went on strike and "occupied" a stretch of the sidewalk outside City Hall as they demanded increased staffing and better wages.

It seems to be a perfect match. Old City Hall is a Downtown landmark, with a grand rotunda, a soaring, 85-foot dome, and exquisite staircases and balconies. But the building no longer shines.
