Holland America Line said "there was an incident in an engineering space" on board the Nieuw Amsterdam ship while at Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, which resulted in the deaths.

Holland America shared the news on Facebook Friday, noting that the two crew members died while onboard the Nieuw Amsterdam ship at Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas that day.

Half Moon Cay is primarily used by Holland America Line, but Carnival Cruise Line will call there more often when the destination is expanded.
