The National Transportation Safety Board said Saturday it had opened a safety investigation into the crash that took the lives of at least two people in a multi-vehicle crash inside a southwest Wyoming highway tunnel.

At least two people were killed in a "multi-vehicle crash" in an interstate tunnel, Wyoming authorities confirmed Friday.

Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers said that the crash involved semi-trucks and passenger vehicles, and added that the strong heat was causing tires to explode.
