Minneapolis defense attorney Sarah Gad denied smuggling drugs into Hennepin County Jail after authorities found drug residue in her garbage and home during a search warrant execution and trash pull.

Sarah Rafat Gad is identified in a search warrant affidavit filed by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office on Monday, with the document alleging she abused the power of her position as a defense attorney by giving cocaine and fentanyl-laced documents to two of her clients.

A search warrant affidavit says a deputy found cocaine-laced paperwork in an inmate's cell on Dec. 31 and are investigating whether it was delivered by his attorney.

Law enforcement officials are investigating after an inmate at the Hennepin County Jail was allegedly caught with legal paperwork laced with drugs. A search warrant targets an attorney who met with the inmate.
