NORMAN, Okla. — Baker Mayield knew Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione wasn’t about to allow Mayfield’s Heisman Park statue to be of his famous flag plant at Ohio State.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray returned to campus Saturday to be honored with a statue of his likeness in the Heisman Park across the street from Memorial Stadium.

The former OU quarterback won the Heisman Trophy in 2018. During that season, Murray threw for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns and added 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the ground.

OU officially unveiled Murray’s Heisman statue in Heisman park on Saturday. Now every Sooner who’s ever won college football’s most prestigious award now has their statue in place.
