KEARNEY, Neb. (KOLN) - On the walls of St. George Orthodox Church are hand-painted icons of saints. “People know when they come in to change their mindset,” said John Wolf, St. George parishioner.

The museum will present a new exhibition online Feb. 5 titled "Painted Poetry," a retrospective exhibition of contemporary works by Russian-born American artist and designer Alexander Gassel.

But in each of these hand-painted Russian posters, something is fantastically askew. Maybe it’s Shrek screaming silently at passers-by or Heath Ledger’s Joker looking like he’s extremely bored.
