HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - A 39-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy who were initially rescued at Cowell Ranch Beach in Half Moon Bay have died, state park officials said Monday.

It is one of the best hikes in the Half Moon Bay area to see sea birds as they make their home in the marsh and grasslands. More than 200 species of birds can be found here.

Half Moon Bay on Thursday will honor the seven farmworkers killed two years ago in a mass shooting and continue to push for a memorial as well as livable housing for all farmworkers.
