Infortrend recently announced that Infortrend’s full line of storage solutions, including the ESVA, EonStor DS and EonNAS families now offer support for enterprise-class HGST 4TB hard disk drives.

As with last year’s study, HGST (formerly Hitachi, now a subsidiary of Western Digital) had the most reliable drives overall, with failure rates as low as 1.4 percent for its 4TB drives.

The NAS owner said the 4TB HGST drives have only accumulated 6,000 hours since their deployment, translating to about 600 hours or about 25 days annually.
