The store was started on Bascom Avenue in 1965 by Bud Eastman, who left a couple of years later to start Guitar Player magazine. He sold it to Wineroth’s older brother, Barry, now 61, for $500.
During the ceremony, Good notes that he met his wife at Guitar Center when she worked there, a reminder of how many musicians’ lives the historic Hollywood store has touched over the years.
