During Hollywood’s Golden Age, stars like Clark Gable, Mary Pickford, and silent film icon Lillian Gish are said to have found refuge in the scenic Torrey Pines Lodge.

Torrey Pines Lodge, completed in 1923, was commissioned by La Jolla philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps and is now the ranger station and visitor center for the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.
