Most of the country looks toward Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil for guidance on Groundhog Day. Georgia has General Beauregard Lee, who has made predictions since 1981. And Lee’s no slouch, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,

General Beauregard Lee will make his annual prediction today shortly after 7:30 a.m. from his mansion at Dauset Trails Nature Center in Jackson, Georgia. This is his 44th year of predicting the weather.
