FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno County correctional officer charged with assaulting an inmate may get to walk away from the case with his record clean again.

The 37-year-old licensed vocational nurse charged $2,000 to smuggle drugs inside and pass them to an inmate during regular medical checks, according to a jail informant.
