The 9-day festival is all about worshipping 9 avatars of Goddess Durga. This year, the festival commences on October 3 and will continue till October 11, marking October 12 as Vijaydashmi or Dussehra.

After presenting the sarees, devotees received collective blessings and free prasadam on the sixth floor of the Maha Mandapam. By evening, 46 groups had offered sarees to the goddess.
