A former Fred Meyer employee who stole more than $60,000 from the retailer to use for gambling has pleaded guilty to theft, according to the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office.
The camp stretches out at the intersection of North 87th Street and First Avenue Northwest, on the backside of a Fred Meyer, and spills into Sandel Park.
The strike started at 6 a.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to run for a little less than one week, ending at 8 a.m. next Tuesday, Sept. 3, unless the union and Fred Meyer reach a deal to end it sooner.
Fred Meyer is slated to open in late 2026 or early 2027, the company announced. The new Caldwell store is estimated to provide 250 jobs.
