The fire was initially reported to be 400 acres, but after more accurate mapping it was holding at 363 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service — Prescott National Forest.
The wildfire, sparked by lightning on July 3, was mapped at 18,474 acres (29 square miles) with 9% containment, the National Forest Service’s fire managers said on Wednesday, July 23.
As of that morning’s incident report, the fire had stopped growing after burning 363 acres. The Brady Fire started Monday west of Mayer on Prescott National Forest land.
PRESCOTT, AZ (AZFamily) — Evacuations have been lifted for residents of Pine Flat, a community southeast of Prescott after the Brady Fire broke out earlier in the week.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Prescott National Forest Engines, the Prescott Hotshots, helicopters and the Groom Creek Fire Department are all working to putting out the fire.
