The famous words "'Twas the night before Christmas" shaped the holiday by popularizing stockings, reindeer, and even Santa Claus. But the classic poem also sparked a centuries-long controversy.
The night kicked off around 6:30 p.m., as many of the attending designers and architects were retiring from a busy day of client meetings, site visits, and eyeballing new wares at the D&D building.
The “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” poem was first published anonymously on Dec. 23, 1823, in The Sentinel, a newspaper based in Troy, New York.
