The family of Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students killed by Bryan Kohberger in 2022, called him a “joke,” “loser,” and “as dumb as they come” in a day of searing victim impact statements.

Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students, receiving the ruling after hours of emotional statements from family and friends of the victims.

Through a statement read in court by friend Emily Alandt, one of the surviving roommates, Bethany Funke, said she's still scared to go out in public but forces herself to do so because she knows her friends would want her to live her life to the fullest.
