Schneider Electric USA is recalling 1.4 million circuit-breaker boxes sold at home improvement and hardware stores nationwide because they can overheat, posing thermal burn and fire hazards.

So I was pretty pumped when I found out that Square D created the Plug-On Neutral Load Center, which accepts Plug-On Neutral breakers that don’t require the extra pigtail wire.

The most recent example is Schneider Electric’s latest Square D Energy Center, which is being unveiled at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

The electric panel controls how much current (and power) are allowed in. The panel might be rated at 100 amps (which allows 240 volts * 100 amps = 24,000 watts = 24 kilowatts).
