The footage shows the dolphin, known as Plata, jumping out of the water during a show at Barcelo Riviera Maya hotel in Mexico and hitting the concrete side separating it from another swimming pool.

When a dolphin jumps, it can launch its whole body out of the water. While it looks like fun, it must also be hard work! So, why do dolphins jump out of the water?
