Disney and Pixar's first major collaboration, 1995's "Toy Story," earned $192 million, just at the U.S. box office, and led to a sequel that earned nearly a quarter of a billion dollars.

But the “Cars” are 2,800-pound animatronic marvels specifically created for the Disney on Ice show. (Except for Sally -- she’s a svelte 1,400 pounds.) ...

Disney creators even invented back stories for the unseen in the “Cars” movies. For example, viewers never see the inside of Lizzie’s curio shop or Flo’s V8 Café in the original movie.

She’s called Sally Carrera, and on the screen she’s a lawyer (well, a lawyer for cars) and, in the first Cars movie from 2006, the love interest of protagonist Lightning McQueen.
