MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) special agent prevented hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of fraudulent checks from being cashed, officials said Tuesday.

Officials say these texts are often threatening and falsely claim to be from a trusted source, such as the Mo. Dept. of Revenue or the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
